Turn a requirements-based tender into a structured, drafted proposal.
The Smart Requirements Workflow structures your proposal around the requirements in a tender or specification, then helps you generate first-draft responses. Use it when your tender is built around requirements rather than a list of questions – for a question-based tender, use the Smart Questions Workflow instead.
Create your project
- Go to Projects and select 'New Project'.
- Choose the Smart Requirements Workflow and give your project a name.
Add your tender documents
- Upload the tender and supporting documents.
- Wait for everything to finish scanning before you move on.
Important: keep the set focused on the documents that contain the requirements. Large or numerous files take longer and are more likely to time out.
Review the analysis and generate the outline
- Run the analysis to get a summary of the requirements and a compliance view.
- Add your win themes.
- Generate the suggested outline – sections are structured around the requirements.
- Check coverage and order, and adjust the sections if you need to.

Build the storyboard and generate a first draft
- Open each section's storyboard, review the mapped requirements and add your instructions.
- Select 'Generate first draft', then refine it in the Editor and export when ready.
If something isn't working
- The outline won't generate, or is stuck scanning: wait for scanning to finish, reduce the document set, clear your browser cache and try again.
- Some requirements are missed: provide a cleaner source document and regenerate, or add them by hand.
- Sections you added yourself have no requirements: add these manually, or regenerate the outline from the analysis.
