The Ideator tool helps you write smarter and faster. Whether you’re working on a bid, proposal, or early draft, the Ideator can take your topic and instantly generate relevant ideas and paragraphs based on your input.
With a few clicks, you can:
- Ask the AI a question.
- Choose how you want the content to sound.
- Pull in ideas from different sources.
- Turn those ideas into ready-to-use paragraphs.
You can control the content length or combine multiple ideas into one polished paragraph.
How it works at a glance
- Open any Draft or Project document.
- Click the lightbulb icon to launch the Ideator.
- Ask a question or enter a topic that you'd like to write about.
- Add context and choose your tone (Optional).
- Pick ideas you like.
- Generate whole paragraphs to insert into your document.
You’re in complete control the whole way — and everything happens inside your open document.
Use the Ideator to generate ideas
- Click the lightbulb icon in the left-hand menu to open the Ideator.
Ask the Ideator a question:
- Click the 'What do you want to write about?' field.
- Type your question or prompt. For example, 'How does AutogenAI enable bid teams to improve their win rates?'.
The more specific you are, the better the ideas will be.
Add Context (optional but helpful)
If your topic relates to a specific bid or situation, adding a bit of context helps the AI understand the scenario and generate more relevant content.
- Click 'Add Context'.
- Enter a quick summary. For example, 'This is a bid for an IT contract with the UK Government'.
- Click 'Confirm'.
Choose a writing style (optional)
You can guide the tone of the output — for example, do you want it to sound persuasive, technical, or concise? Ideator will adapt its writing to match the style you choose.
- Click 'Modify Ideas'.
- Type a style or tone (e.g., Persuasive, Concise, Bid-ready) or pick one from the suggestions.
- Click 'Confirm'.
Select idea sources
You can tell the Ideator where to pull inspiration from.
- Choose one or both of the following:
- Library AI: Uses your company’s documents.
- Internet AI: Uses publicly available content.
- You’ll get different kinds of ideas depending on the source.
- Click the arrow to start idea generation.
Pick the ideas you like
- Once ideas appear, look through the list.
- Click the + icon beside any idea you want to keep. You can select as many as you'd like.
Set a word count (optional)
Need to meet a word limit? You can set a target before generating paragraphs.
- Click the downward arrow next to the 'Generate Paragraphs' button.
- Type in the number you want (e.g., 150 words) or choose from preset options. Click the arrow icon to set your word count.
Your paragraph(s) will match the length you set.
Generate your paragraphs
The AI will write one paragraph for each idea you selected and insert them directly into your open document.
- Click 'Generate Paragraphs'.
Combine multiple ideas into one paragraph
Sometimes you don’t want multiple paragraphs — you just want one well-rounded response. That’s what synthesis is for.
- After generating ideas, select two or more ideas using the '+' icon.
- Click the arrow icon to set a word count (optional).
- Click 'Synthesise Ideas'. This will combine your selected ideas into one paragraph.
The combined paragraph will appear in your document.
