Pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs) are made up of many short, structured questions. AutogenAI gives you three ways to answer them, depending on how you prefer to work:
- The assistant: draft answers one question at a time.
- Word integration: write inside Word with AutogenAI alongside.
- Q&A workbooks: work through a full question set in one place.
Best for: proposal writers and proposal teams responding to PQQs.

Before you start
- Create a project for your PQQ from projects on the left-hand menu.
- Add your supporting content to your knowledge hub (case studies, policies, past answers) so AutogenAI can draw on it.
- Have the PQQ document and its scoring criteria on hand.
Option 1: Use the assistant
Best for individual questions or when you need quick first drafts.
- Open your PQQ project and launch the assistant.
- Paste in the PQQ question, along with word count and scoring criteria.
- Add context, such as the relevant project, case study, or policy.
- Generate a draft answer.
- Refine with follow-up prompts, for example “shorten to 250 words” or “add a measurable outcome.”
- Copy the final answer into your PQQ response.
Tip: Include the evaluation criteria in your prompt so the assistant writes the answer to score.
Option 2: Use the Word integration
Best for writers who prefer to draft directly in the PQQ document.
- Open your PQQ response document in Word.
- Open the AutogenAI pane from the ribbon and sign in.
- Select the project linked to your PQQ.
- Place your cursor under a question, or highlight the question text.
- Generate a draft using AutogenAI.
- Insert the answer into your document and edit as needed.
- Repeat for each question.
Tip: Work through the document in order so answers stay consistent.
Option 3: Use Q&A workbooks
Best for PQQs with many questions that need to be tracked and completed in one place.
- Open your project and create a new Q&A workbook.
- Import or add your PQQ questions.
- Open a question and generate a draft answer.
- Review and edit each answer.
- Track progress as you move through the workbook.
- Export your completed answers when ready.
Tip: Q&A workbooks work well for team collaboration, where different writers own different questions.
Choosing the right option
| If you want to... | Use |
|---|---|
| Draft a single answer quickly | Assistant |
| Write directly in your PQQ document | Word integration |
| Manage a large set of questions | Q&A workbooks |
Best practices
- Answer to the criteria. Scoring guidance tells you what evaluators want.
- Reuse approved content. Keep your best answers in the knowledge hub.
- Check word counts. Many PQQs enforce strict limits.
- Review every answer. Confirm facts, dates, and figures before submitting.
