Glossary of key terms – AutogenAI

Quick definitions for the terms used across AutogenAI help articles — bid and proposal terminology, AI and trust vocabulary, and platform features. Use this page to look up a term you've seen in another article.

Bid and proposal terms

Term	Definition
Opportunity	A contract your team has spotted and might go after. It becomes a committed pursuit at the bid/no-bid decision.
Project	The collaborative workspace for one opportunity. Everything for that pursuit — documents, sources, drafts — lives inside it.
Proposal	The document your team writes and submits to win the contract.
Response outline	The platform's name for the document outline it generates. "Outline" covers more than "response" — it includes every volume sent to the sponsor.
Sources	The documents and content your team adds to a library. The platform uses them to ground drafts and run compliance checks.
Capture plan	The plan your team builds for pursuing an opportunity ahead of a formal bid.
Submission	The completed proposal package delivered to the customer.
Bid/no-bid decision	The point at which an opportunity becomes a committed pursuit.
Pwin	Probability of winning a given opportunity.
Compliance Matrix	The document that maps RFP requirements to where your proposal addresses them.
Potential contract value	The estimated value of a contract before it's won.
RFP	Request for proposal. Covers all solicitation or tender documents.
RFI	Request for information.
PQQ	Pre-qualification questionnaire.
DDQ	Due diligence questionnaire.
Customer	The organization your team is bidding to win work from.

AI and trust vocabulary

Term	Definition
Provenance	Where a specific piece of content or answer came from — the source it was grounded in, stated rather than assumed.
Transparency	Making the platform's work checkable: showing sources before answers and reporting progress in terms you can verify.
Traceability	The ability to follow a claim in an AI answer back to the source it came from.
Status vocabulary	The fixed set of state words — queued, in progress, complete, failed, blocked, partially complete, stale, cancelled, empty — that mean the same thing everywhere they appear.
Cited sources	The full list of sources an AI tool read, distinct from the sources it actually cited in an answer.
Confidence signal	An indication of how reliable the platform considers an output to be, stated rather than implied by tone.

Platform features

Term	Definition
Knowledge Hub	Your organization's central library of documents and content, available for AI tools to draw on across the platform.
Source Providers	The specific sources you select for a given task — your Knowledge Hub, web search, or an uploaded document. Configured per task; selections don't carry over between tools.
Project Library	The set of documents specific to one project — RFP documents, AI activity outputs, and anything else uploaded to that project. Available through Source Providers only while you're inside that project.
Datasets	A source type you can select alongside your Knowledge Hub and web search when configuring Source Providers.
Research Assistant	The tool for open research: ask a question and get an answer with inline citations back to your sources.
Editor	The workspace where you draft and refine proposal content, with Ask AI and the writing transformations available in the side panel.
Ask AI	The tool in the editor's Write panel for asking questions about or making requests of selected text.
Writing transformations	Pre-built actions in the Write panel that revise selected text — Rephrase, Expand, Summarize, Add Case Study, Add Statistics, Tone of Voice, etc.
Storyboard	The panel where you brief a section before generating a draft — holds the writer's assignment, requirements, contextual notes, evaluation criteria, and win themes.
Document history	The version history for a document in the editor, letting you roll back to an earlier version.
Saved Prompts	Prompts you've saved for reuse across the platform.
Q&A Workbooks	A tool for working through questionnaires such as PQQs, RFPs, and DDQs, using AI to match incoming questions against your organization's Q&A database and suggest answers.
Q&A Database	Your organization's stored library of previously answered questions, used to autofill Q&A Workbooks.
Document Comparison	A tool for comparing two documents and surfacing the differences between them.
Gamma Review	The platform's review workflow for checking proposal content against pre-defined criteria, question and requirements pairs, win plan, and compliance.
Export to InDesign	The export option for sending a finished response to Adobe InDesign for design-led submissions, alongside Quick Export for a Word document.
Word add-in	The Microsoft Word integration that brings AutogenAI features into Word.
Single sign-on (SSO)	Authentication setup that lets your organization's users sign in to AutogenAI using your existing identity provider, via SAML or OpenID Connect (OIDC).
Custom Tone of Voice	An add-on that adjusts the tone of AutogenAI's output to match your organization's preferred style, built from sample documents you provide.
Library permissions	The permission levels that control who can view, edit, or manage content in the Knowledge Hub.
Competitor analysis	An AI activity that produces an analysis from the RFP and web search alone.
