Document Comparison lets you compare two versions of a document — for example, an original RFP and an amended version, or two drafts of a contract — and see exactly what's changed between them. AutogenAI generates a word-for-word diff of the two documents plus an AI-generated summary of the changes, so you can quickly understand what's new, removed, or modified without reading both documents line by line.
Where to find it
Document Comparison lives alongside Research Assistant on the Home page. If you don't see it, your organization's admin or your Customer Success Manager may need to enable it for your account — it's switched on per organization rather than being available to everyone by default.
How to compare two documents
- From the Home page, select the Document Comparison (also called Compare Docs) option.
- Upload or select your two documents:
- The original document (e.g., the base RFP or contract)
- The modified document (e.g., the amended or updated version)
- You can upload new files or choose existing files from the Knowledge Hub.
- Run the comparison. AutogenAI will process both documents and generate:
- A word-for-word diff, highlighting additions, deletions, and edits between the two versions
- An AI-generated summary of the key changes
- Review the output. You can filter the diff by type of change, and save the comparison output to a draft for further work.
Asking follow-up questions
You can ask follow-up questions after a comparison (for example, "what changed in the payment terms?"). Keep in mind that follow-up answers are generated from the AI-generated summary of the differences, not by re-reading the full contents of both documents. For the most accurate detail on a specific change, refer to the diff view directly rather than relying on follow-up questions alone.
