AutogenAI gives you two related ways to feed your own information into the platform so your outputs are more relevant and less repetitive: inputs (used in Drafts) and variables & values (used in Research Assistant). This article explains what each one is, when to use it, and how to set it up.

Part 1: Inputs
Inputs help you represent your proposal strategy and storyboard.
They store your team's linguistic ingredients — such as win themes, company values, and proposal-specific context — so proposal writers can reuse the same language and stay consistent throughout a proposal.
Creating and viewing draft-level inputs
- In a draft, click Inputs in the left side of the page. This stores inputs available only within that draft.
- Click + Input to create a set — the process is the same as for project-level inputs above.
Draft-level inputs stay private to you until you choose to share your work with your team.
Related setting: Company Name and App Language
Company Name and App Language are configured on the Settings page rather than within inputs directly, but they work the same way — feeding your organization's details into specific transformations:
- Go to the Settings page.
- Enter your Company Name and preferred Language.
- In a document, click We Will to generate a response using the company name you set.
- Use the Translate transformation to translate your selection into the language you set.
Part 2: variables & values (Research Assistant)
Research Assistant lets you build a report by asking one or more questions across a whole list of values at once — for example, asking "What is the population of [state]?" and getting an answer for every US state in a single run, rather than asking 50 separate questions.
Variables are the placeholders in your question (for example, "state," "competitor," "country").
Values are the specific items you want the variable to cycle through (for example, Alabama, Alaska, Arizona…).
How to create and use a variable
- Click Research Assistant.
- Type the question you want to ask.
- Click Add Variable to attach a variable to your question.
- Either:
- Type into the text box to create a new variable, or
- Choose from the list of existing variables you've previously created.
- Click the chosen variable to see the values already added to it.
- Add more values by typing into the add values... box.
- Remove a value by clicking its – icon.
- Rename a variable using its three-dot menu.
- When the question is ready, click the down arrow to add it to the report.
- Repeat steps 2–9 to add more questions.
- Click the send icon to run the report.
Working with the report
- AutogenAI generates the report after a short wait.
- Click through to inspect the sources behind each answer.
- Use the copy icon to copy all answers for a question in one go.
- Use the download icon to download all answers for a question in one go.
- Use Start Over (then Confirm) to clear all questions and answers and begin again.
