The editor is AutogenAI's AI-powered writing tool for proposal content. It's built directly into the document, so you can draft, refine, and source evidence for your response without switching to a separate app. It draws on your organization's knowledge hub, internet sources, and structured data, bringing what you need for a section into the same page as the text itself.
Accessing the editor
The editor opens within a document. Documents are organized under My workspace or in Projects, and opening or creating a document from there opens it in the editor.
Navigating the page
The editor page has two main areas:
- The document, on the left, where you write and edit your content directly.
- The write panel, on the right, where Ask AI, the assistant and the ready-made transformations live.
A strip of icons along the right edge of the screen switches between the write panel and four other panels: Assistant, Gamma Review, Comments, and Sources.
How to use each part of the editor
The parts of the editor and how to use them are described below.
Assistant
A panel for asking a new question directly, rather than editing existing text. It supports attaching a file, choosing a source provider, and applying a tag before a question is submitted. Highlight the text, and click the edit with assistant button. You can also access the assistant by going into the editor and clicking the assistant icon in the right-hand side.
Source providers
A selector for the sources the editor draws on: knowledge hub (all library files), datasets (all datasets), and web search. Selections apply only for the current session. Source providers can be found in the editor when the write icon is clicked. The filter will be at the top-right corner.
Document setup
A panel for renaming the document and, where needed, turning on page count, choosing a page format, and setting margins.
Sources
A panel listing the knowledge hub and web search sources available to the editor for the current document. You can access sources by going into the editor and clicking the sources icon on the right-hand side.
Ask AI
A free-text field for enhancing, rewriting, or generating content. Ask AI uses whichever source providers are selected — library, datasets, or web search — to complete the request. You can access Ask AI by going into the editor and clicking the write icon in the right-hand side. The Ask AI button will be at the top.
Evidencing transformations
A set of ready-made options — Expand, Explain How, Add Statistics, For Example, Add Case Study, and Search — that pull relevant content from selected sources instead of requiring a written prompt. Highlight the text, and click the transformation you want to use on that text. You can also access evidencing transformations by going into the editor and clicking the Write icon in the right-hand side.
Editing transformations
A set of options — Summarize, Improve Grammar, Change Tense, Rephrase, Reduce Word/Character Count, and Word Cutting — that work on text already selected. Editing transformations use only the selected text; they don't draw on external sources. Highlight the text, and click the transformation you want to use on that text. You can also access editing transformations by going into the editor and clicking the write icon in the right-hand side.
Applying a transformation
- Select the text you want to change — a sentence, a paragraph, or an entire section.
- A floating toolbar appears above your selection. Choose a transformation from the list.
- Review the result. Accept it to keep the change, or undo and try a different transformation if it's not quite right.
What each transformation does
| Transformation | Use it to... |
|---|---|
| Expand | Grow your text to reach a target word or character count |
| Reduce Word Count | Tighten your text down to a target length |
| Rephrase | Refresh the wording without changing the meaning |
| Improve Grammar | Clean up spelling, grammar, and sentence structure |
| Change Tense | Shift the whole selection to past, present, or future tense |
| Add Case Study | Bring in a relevant example from your library |
| Add Statistics | Strengthen a claim with supporting data |
| Summarize | Condense a longer passage into a short overview |
| Translate | Convert your selection into another language |
Gamma review
A review tool that checks a draft against a specific question and section of the specification (Question and Requirements Pair), or against one or more pre-defined criteria: Approach and Methodology, Evidence, Robustness, Innovation, and Spelling and Grammar. You can access gamma review by going into the editor and clicking the gamma review icon on the right-hand side.
Comments
A panel showing comments on the document and any replies. You can access comments by going into the editor and clicking the comments icon on the right-hand side or by highlighting the text and clicking the + Comment button.
